How do I register?

Before using the Luxottica Institute of Learning website for the first time, you must first register. Once you have registered, a temporary password will be emailed to you that provides ongoing access to your specific profile in the Luxottica Institute of Learning website.

  • You only need to register once. Register with the Institute of Learning here.
  • Your temporary password will then be emailed to you within a few minutes.  If you do not receive a password within 10 minutes contact us.
  • Once you have received the email with your temporary password go back to the website and log-in.
  • You can change your temporary password in "My Account".

How do I find and study a CPD module

  • You must first be logged in to access CPD modules, tests, your profile and learning history.
  • View all the CPD modules here.
  • Select a CPD module you wish to study.

How do I take a test and earn CPD Points

  • Once you have studied the CPD module click "Assessment Question" to take the CPD test.
  • You have two chances to choose the correct answer to each question.
  • Once you have answered correctly, or had two failed attempts, you will automatically move to the next question.
  • If you are half way through completing the assessment questions you can log off and login again at a later time. The assessment questions will resume from where you left off.

What score do I need to pass a test?

  • You must achieve a minimum result of 80% to pass a module.
  • If you fail the module test you are permitted to can repeat the entire test until you achieve a pass.
  • Upon successfully completing and passing a module test your points will be forwarded to Optometry Australia or the Optometrists and Dispensing Opticians Board of New Zealand .

Do I need to pay for CPD Modules?

  • Luxottica provides this quality CPD education service free of charge to permanent full time and part time employees, franchisees and licensees of Luxottica and Laubman & Pank. This is part of Luxottica's commitment to encouraging continued excellence to our optometry team.

How is the OA or NZAO notified of the CPD points I achieve?

  • Once you complete a module we will immediately notify you of the points you have achieved via email with an attached CPD certificate.
  • We will notify the Optometry Australia or the Optometrists and Dispensing Opticians Board of New Zealand of all points earned at the end of each month.

How many CPD modules do you offer each month?

  • Luxottica offers at least one new CPD module each month.

How long do I have to complete a module?

  • In Australia modules are available to be completed up to the 30 November each year.  You must have your required CPD points (40) by this date in order to maintain your practicing certificate.
  • In New Zealand modules are available to be completed up to the 31 October each year.  You must have your required CPD points (20) by this date in order to maintain your practicing certificate.
  • Individual modules cannot be completed more than once in a two year period.

How do I access my CPD record, certificate and learning history?

  • You must first be logged in to access your CPD record.
  • Upon completion of a CPD Module test, your points will be immediately be recorded to your CPD profile.
  • Upon completion of a CPD Module test, a certificate will be immediately emailed to you.  This certificate will feature your CPD score, a pass/fail notification, and the amount of points earned.
  • You can email yourself a copy of your CPD certificate for each completed module at a later date from the "Completed Modules" page.
  • You can generate and download a "Learning History" summary report from the "Completed Modules" page. Enter the date range you require and click "go" to download a pdf to your computer.

How many CPD points can I get by completing a module?

  • You will receive 2 to 4 CPD points per module in Australia
  • You will receive 1 to 2 CPD points per module in New Zealand

How many correct answers do I need to pass?

  • You need to achieve a minimum score of 80%.

How many points can I earn each regulation period from CPD modules?

  • In Australia, you can earn 56 out of your total 80 CPD points required over 24 months. This is the maximum you can receive through distance learning as you need to earn at least 24 points from face-to face learning.
  • In New Zealand you can earn all of your 40 CPD points required over a 24 month period. You must have 40 points by 31 October 2016.
